Imagine a place where you can be truly seen.
Although the Temple is placed in Anahasana Village it has no kitchen or real estate. It exists only in its membership, its philosophy, its culture and most importantly, its evening offering. Regardless of where you camp in Black Rock City, you are invited to be a member of The Burning Man Goddess Temple. We: • Conduct day-time workshops explaining how to be a temple priestess • Conduct Goddess Temple offerings Tues., Thurs., Fri., and Sat. nights 8 pm-2 am • Meet and plan online year-round Every year the temple has a new name. In 2019 it was the: Temple of Infinite Divine Pleasure The 2020 temple has not yet been named. If you are interested in Joining Burning Man Goddess temple, follow the Join link at the top of this page: For 2020, membership in the Goddess temple costs: $25 dues if paid before June 1 $50 dues if paid after June 1 Membership in The Temple provides: 1. Dues paid members will receive priority notifications about upcoming opportunities 2. Only dues paid members can gift as High Priestesses in the Inner Sanctum 3. If there are too many volunteers wanting to gift in the temple spaces, Dues paid members will always be given priority 4. Dues paid members will have access to the Mattermost online collaboration tool Your dues provide: 1. Purchase and cleaning of the Goddess robes that signify your intention to gift in the temple space. You do not get to own a robe, but you may use one while in the temple. 2. Pay for the equipment that is used in the Goddess Temple such as, tribal markers, batteries for candles, sumptuous fabrics, spirit head dresses, etc. 3. Pay for the printing of the announcement business cards. 4. Additions to equipment and infrastructure necessary to house our offerings 5. Pay for web hosting and other organizational needs. Mostly your dues are a way of saying "I'm In!!" It can be quite easy to put your name on a mailing list. It is those who have taken the extra step to pay dues who we know we can count on to be a pillar of support to bring this offering to the Playa. Expectations of membership 1. Participate in on-going online discussions. Since we are a virtual camp, 100% of who we are exists in our cultural history. We need all of your voices to participate in the creation of our offerings. 2. Attend the initial organizing meeting at 6 pm Monday August 31, 2019 at Anahasana Village. It is here that we will be giving the full download of what we will be doing in 2020. You will be toured through the Temple Spaces. You will have a chance to see who else you will be gifting along side this year. We will demonstrate some of our offerings. 3. If you have never gifted in the temple, you must attend a day time orientation workshop. Here you will learn the ways of the temple. After your orientation, you may return to gift in our evening offerings. 4. Your Full Self Expression— This will be different for each of you, as it should be. The Temple is a place beyond social norms, beyond societal layers. It is a place for you to step into your intuition in service to the present moment, in healing support of the person in front of you. We may have forgotten how to do this. The Temple is your place to remember. Your most important responsibility is to step beyond your conditioned sense of self to explore your higher purpose. Be that! 5. The Goddess Temple is a sober venue of higher consciousness. We understand that simply being at Burning Man is an altered reality. We do not expect that you or your experiences in our the Temple will be "normal." We do however expect that your insight, judgement and your abilities to discern consent and boundaries be intact and finely attuned. Alcohol is highly discouraged for Goddesses as well as participants. 6. Consent— Anahasana village is intentionally consent driven. The Goddess Temple is even more so. It is mandatory that you read and abide by the Anahasana Village Consent policies. Without consent, attempts at great healing can often lead to great harm. |
